20-Year Payment for Lifelong Medical Coverage

PRUmedisave account is a unique whole life medical plan available to anyone aged 1^* to 45 (age next birthday) ^#1 . It is your lifelong financial support which helps relieve your financial burden should the life assured become ill.

Once you have taken out the plan, an account value equal to 1,000 times of a Daily Cash Benefit will be available immediately to pay for hospital bills and other relevant benefits, and you will be able to withdraw the money up to age 100 (age next birthday) or until the account is exhausted. Your premium level will remain constant throughout the premium term, meaning that you can readily plan in advance. You pay premium for 20 years but your coverage will be lifelong and guaranteed.

^* Age 1 (age next birthday) means that the life proposed must be at least 30 days old when the proposal form is signed.

Comprehensive Medical Benefits

Not only protecting you against high hospitalization expenses, PRUmedisave account also takes care of you by providing all-round medical coverage ranging from surgical protection, home nursing benefit to major disease cover.

The following hospital benefits will be offered in case the life assured is confined in hospital:

• Hospital Confinement Benefit
  In the event of illness or injury leading to confinement in a hospital ^#1 , you will be offered a Daily Cash Benefit per day's stay in hospital. This is a daily fixed benefit irrespective of the actual hospitalization expenses you have already paid. This benefit will even be tripled starting from the 91st day of staying in hospital if the life assured stays in hospital for more than 90 days.
• Intensive Care Unit / Burn Center Benefit
  If services from an intensive care unit or a burn center are required, you will receive DOUBLE Daily Cash Benefits in addition to the Hospital Confinement Benefit. This extra financial support will be payable for each day the life assured is confined in an intensive care unit or a burn center.
• Surgical Cash Benefit
  In case a surgery is performed in hospital, a lump sum Surgical Cash Benefit will be payable. You will have an extra benefit equivalent to the lower of the followings: (i) a multiple (ranging from 2.5 to 50 depending on the severity of the operation undergone) of the Daily Cash Benefit; or (ii) the actual surgical fee you have incurred.
• Pre / Post - Hospitalization Out-Patient Benefit
  You are covered before or after the hospitalization. If the life assured receives treatment at the out-patient department of a hospital for illness or injury within 1 week before or 2 weeks after hospitalization due to such illness or injury, you will receive 25% of Daily Cash Benefit per visit to the out-patient department of a hospital.
• Daily Post-Surgery Home Nursing Benefit
  If home nursing service is recommended by the doctor after surgery ^#2 , we will offer the Daily Cash Benefit for each visit by a nurse.
• Supplementary Crisis Cover Benefit
  PRUmedisave account will supplement the life assured's existing cover against major disease by paying additional cash benefit to relieve your hardship in good time. Should the life assured be confined in hospital due to any one of the 40 covered Major Diseases ^#3 , DOUBLE Daily Cash Benefits will be payable in addition to the Hospital Confinement Benefit.

^#1 Confinement in a hospital must be recommended by a registered doctor and medically necessary. No benefit is payable if the confinement period is for less than 6 consecutive hours.

^#2 For Daily Post-Surgery Home Nursing Benefit to be payable, the nursing service must be directly related to or resulted from the surgical operation and be part of the Life Assured's rehabilitation treatment within 31 days after hospitalization.

^#1 The Cash Advancement Benefit is only available if the life assured survives on or after the policy anniversary immediately after the life assured has reached age 79.

Protect Your Loved Ones Against Mishaps

In the event of death, the sum assured less total benefits paid under the policy ^#2 will be provided to financially support your loved ones during the most difficult of times. If an accidental death takes place before age 69 and within 90 days after an accident, an additional 100% of sum assured ^#2 will be payable on top of the death benefit.

Worldwide Assistance Protects You Anywhere Around-the-Clock

As our valued customer, you will enjoy Free Worldwide Emergency Assistance Services ^#3 provided by the Inter Partner Assistance Hong Kong Limited ^#4 . In case an accident happens or if the life assured suffers from an illness while traveling outside Hong Kong, emergency evacuation and repatriation cover will be provided.

^#1 The Free Accelerated Disability Benefit is only offered to the life assured of age 16 (age next birthday) or above at policy issuance, holds a valid Hong Kong Identity Card and is residing in Hong Kong. Prudential reserves the right to the final decision to offer the benefit.

^#2 The benefit payable will be reduced by 50% if the life assured dies before the age of 1. The benefit payable will be reduced by 25% if the life assured dies at or after the age of 1 but before the age of 2.

^#3 Free Worldwide Emergency Assistance Services Benefits include:

• Access to 24-hour emergency telephone service
• Medical evacuation (Unlimited Cover)
• Repatriation to Hong Kong (Unlimited Cover)
• Repatriation of mortal remains/ashes (Unlimited Cover)
• Travel information, medical information, legal referral, interpreter referral, etc.
• Hospital deposit guarantee up to HK$39,000

Q: Will the premium change in the life assured's lifetime?
A: No. This plan is a level-premium plan, which means once your policy is issued, the premium will remain constant throughout the premium term.

Q: When will the benefit commence?
A: Immediate coverage is provided for injury due to accidents once the policy has been issued. Benefits will be payable if the symptoms of an illness appears or is diagnosed by a registered doctor after 30 days from the effective date of PRUmedisave account. For Supplementary Crisis Cover Benefit and Free Accelerated Disability Benefit, benefits will only be payable if the symptoms of an illness or the Total and Permanent Disability diagnosed by a registered doctor occurred after 90 days from the effective date of the plan. Q: How long will the benefit last after I have fully paid-up the policy?
A: The benefit will remain active up to age 100 (age next birthday) as long as your PRUmedisave account balance maintains a positive value.

Q: What if my PRUmedisave account balance is insufficient to pay for a claim after I have received certain benefits previously?
A: We will pay you the account balance if the benefit payable is higher than your account value. Your policy will then be automatically terminated if the balance is zero in your PRUmedisave account.

Q: How much benefit shall I receive if I have undergone surgery in hospital?
A: You will be entitled to a lump sum of Daily Cash Benefit times the relevant Surgical Multiple according to the complexity of each surgical procedure. In case your actual surgical expense is lower than the said lump sum amount, we will pay the actual surgical expense instead. However, you can still receive the Hospital Confinement Benefit for each day you stay in hospital regardless of what surgery is performed.

Q: Shall I receive more than one claim payment for Surgical Cash Benefit if more than one surgery is performed during the same hospitalization?
A: No. If more than one surgery is performed during the same hospitalization, the Surgical Cash Benefit shall only be payable for the surgical procedure which, according to the terms of the policy, entitles the highest Surgical Cash Benefit.

Q: How much shall I receive if I have 2 out-patient visits within one day before hospitalization?
A: As only 1 out-patient visit is covered per day, you can only claim for 1 Pre-Hospitalization Out-Patient Benefit equivalent to 25% of the Daily Cash Benefit.

Q: What if I have been confined in hospital due to Major Disease?
A: If you are confined in hospital due to any one of the 40 covered Major Diseases, we will pay triple Daily Cash Benefits for each day of confinement, which include a Daily Cash Benefit as your Hospital Confinement Benefit and double Daily Cash Benefits as your Supplementary Crisis Cover Benefit. In case surgery is required due to that Major Disease, extra surgical cash will also be payable. Q: What are my benefits if I am confined in a hospital outside the Benefit Area?
A: If you are confined in any hospital outside the Benefit Area, we will reduce the benefits for Hospital Confinement Benefit, Intensive Care Unit / Burn Center Benefit, Pre/Post-Hospitalization Out-Patient Benefit and Daily Post-Surgery Home Nursing Benefit by 50% and pay for a maximum of 90 days for Hospital Confinement Benefit for any one injury or illness.

Q: What is the Benefit Area?
A: The Benefit Area includes Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan, United Kingdom, member countries of the European Union, Switzerland, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, United States of America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Republic of South Africa.
