Product Description
ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fiber (UHMWPE), which have yield strengths as high as 2.4 GPa and density as low as 0.97 kg/l. High strength steels have comparable yield strengths, and low carbon steels have yield strengths much lower (around 0.5 GPA). Since steel has a density approximately equal to 7.8 kg/l, this gives strength/weight ratios for these materials in a range from 10 to 100 times higher than for steel. Strength to weight ratios for UHMWPE fiber are about 40% higher than for Aramid.
This product is independently developed by Rongyi and all the intellectual property rights and mature techniques of this product are owned by Rongyi.
The quality of UHMWPE is stable and reliable because in procedure Rongyi adopts modern equipment, mature techniques, first-level inspection and testing instruments, as well as strict quality supervision system. Rongyi produces a wide range and good variety of fibers from 44 dtex to 1760 dtex. All properties and performances of fiber comply with international advanced level, comparable to popular fiber products sold in USA and Holland. UHMWPE's breaking strength is 30-38cN/dtex, modulus higher than 1100cN/dtex, and breaking elongation lower than 4%.
UHMWPE fibers are used in ballistic vests, ballistic helmets and ballistic vehicle protection, bow strings, climbing equipment, fishing line, spear lines for spearguns, high-performance sails, suspension lines on sport parachutes, rigging in yachting, kites, and kites lines for kites sports.
